How it turned out
We projected about 3.1 goals; the game finished with 2. We made Al-Arabi to win 61%, and it landed.
What we said beforehand
Al-Arabi host Al Fahaheel at home in the Kuwait Premier League on 28 October 2026. Al-Arabi sit 10th out of 12 with three points from four games and a goal difference of minus one. Al Fahaheel are in a much better spot, 6th with nine points from five games and a plus-seven goal difference. The gap between them and the teams around them is tight: Al-Arabi are one place above Al-Salibikhaet and two below Al-Sahel SC, while Al Fahaheel sit level with Al-Salmiyah and two points ahead of Al-Shabab SC. Both clubs will be looking to improve their positions, but the stakes are higher for Al-Arabi who are fighting to climb out of the relegation zone.
Al-Arabi’s recent form has been poor. In their last eight matches they have won two, drawn one and lost five. The most recent results, newest first, are a 3-2 loss away to Al-Wakrah, a 3-1 defeat at home to Al-Nejmeh, a 2-0 loss away to FC Istiklol and a 1-0 home loss to Homs Al Fidaa. Before that they beat Al-Shahaniya 6-0 away and drew 1-1 with Kazma away. In these eight games they have scored 13 goals and let in 14. They kept only one clean sheet and failed to score in three matches. Four of the games featured three or more goals and both sides scored in four of them. The side played just four days ago, so they are coming in on a short turnaround.
Al Fahaheel have been steadier. Their five games have given them nine points and a healthy +7 goal difference, placing them comfortably in the top half of the table. Their recent run includes a mixture of wins and draws that have kept them level with Al-Salmiyah above and two points ahead of Al-Shabab SC below. Their latest outing was a win that showed they can find the net regularly, confirming the 61 % chance we give them to score at all and a 24 % chance to score twice or more.
When these two teams have met before, the matches have tended to produce goals on both ends. The numbers we have suggest an open game, with Al-Arabi expected to score about 2.1 goals and Al Fahaheel about 1.0. Both sides have a good chance of finding the net, and four of Al-Arabi’s recent games have seen three or more goals with both teams scoring. This pattern points to a contest where chances will be created at both ends, rather than a defensive slog.
We pick Al-Arabi to win. The price of 1.72 matches our own reading of the game. Al-Arabi are the stronger side on the goal expectations and they have a 62 % chance of scoring twice or more, while Al Fahaheel are less likely to hit the net more than once. Our chance of this pick succeeding is 61 %. For the result to go wrong, Al Fahaheel would need to keep a clean sheet and score at least once, or Al-Arabi would have to fail to find a single goal despite their high scoring probability. If either of those happens the upset would be explained, but otherwise we think the home side should edge it.
Recent results
Al-Arabi have won three of the last five meetings, with two drawn.
