What to expect
Plzen host FK Crvena Zvezda in a Europa League tie that looks fairly even despite the numbers. Our goal expectations give Plzen about 2.2 goals and the visitors just 1.0, so the home side is the stronger side on paper. That gap suggests an open game with chances for both teams, especially as the match is played at Plzen’s ground.
Looking at recent form, Plzen have struggled in their last five league outings, managing only one win, one draw and three defeats. Crvena Zvezda, on the other hand, come in on the back of three straight league victories and have won three of their last five games overall. The contrast in recent results points to the Serbian side having momentum, but the home team’s poorer run means they will be eager to turn things around.
Our pick is Plzen on a draw-no-bet. The price of 1.50 is longer than what we feel the game is worth, which makes the selection attractive. With a 77 % chance of success in our view, the draw-no-bet safety net means we only lose if Plzen are beaten outright, while a draw returns the stake.
For the pick to fail, Crvena Zvezda would need to keep their winning streak alive and score at least two goals, while Plzen would have to be shut out. If the visitors dominate early and force a clean sheet, the result could turn against us. We are fairly confident in our view, but we recognise a strong away performance could upset the balance.
