What to expect

Barbados host Bermuda in a CONCACAF Nations League clash on 3 October 2026. Both teams sit in the middle of the table, each looking to climb a few places before the final round. The points are tight, so a win or even a draw could move one side ahead of the other. On paper Bermuda looks the stronger side, but the numbers also show that both sides are likely to find the net, so the game should be open and entertaining.

Barbados have been busy of late. They beat the Cayman Islands 3-1, then drew 2-2 with the Dominican Republic, and most recently suffered a 0-3 loss to Haiti. Those three results give them one win, one draw and one defeat, with six goals scored and six conceded. The run shows they can score, but they also let in as many as they make.

Bermuda’s recent form is a mix of highs and lows. They started with a 4-1 victory over Saint Lucia, followed by a 2-2 draw with the Turks and Caicos Islands, and then fell 1-4 to the Bahamas. In that last game they managed to score once but gave up four, a result that highlighted defensive frailties. Still, they have found the net in every match, scoring a total of seven goals while conceding seven.

When the two sides have met before, the games have usually produced plenty of chances at both ends. The current expectations line up with that pattern – Barbados are expected to score 2.1 goals on average and Bermuda 2.4, meaning a total of about 4.5 goals. The chance that Barbados will score at all is 85 percent, with a 58 percent chance of two or more. Bermuda’s chances are even higher – 89 percent to score and 65 percent to hit the net twice. This suggests a match with attacks from both sides and a likely high-scoring finish.

We back Bermuda or a draw. The price of 1.79 is longer than what we think the game will end up like, so it gives us a little extra safety. Our chance that this selection will be right sits at 66 percent. For the pick to fail, Bermuda would have to lose outright, which would require a very poor defensive showing and Barbados to keep a clean sheet. If the game stays close or ends level, the bet should pay off.

South Korea are the stronger side on the numbers (xG 1.8-1.0), and we make them about 63% to win. On this shape, taking them to come out on top looks the cleaner play than chasing a bigger price elsewhere.
